*     Officials found a double-bottom launch on a beach in Costa Rica; it was loaded with 320 kilos of cocaine. The Ecuadoran crewman alleged he was just a fisherman and that he had run out of fuel.
*     Costa Rican police seized 125 kilos of cocaine in a truck at the border with Nicaragua. (Both preceding items from “El Nuevo Diario”, Managua, Nicaragua, 3/24/09)
*     A light aircraft made an emergency landing in Choluteca, Honduras. It was loaded with some 450 kilos of cocaine. The “co-pilot” disappeared. The pilot said he was forced to fly from Panama under threat. (From “El Heraldo”, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, 3/24/09)
*     Two “fishing boats” with four Hondurans and one Colombian were intercepted in the Caribbean; they carried 400 kilos of heroin and 2.2 metric tons of cocaine. The U.S. Coast Guard participated in another operation last Saturday; four Hondurans were found with one ton of cocaine. (From “La Prensa Grafica”, San Salvador, El Salvador, 3/24/09)
*     Yet another 3.5 tons of cocaine bound for a Mexican port were found in a shipboard container at the port of Buenaventura, Colombia. (From “El Pais”, Cali, Colombia, 3/24/09)
